First listen, since it's actually not out till august 6th (next week) Pretty much what I expected it to be. New vocalist needed a bit of time to get used to. People said the difference isn't that big... but given that I listened to their other albums a lot... like, a lot, I find the differences quite noticeable. Not to bad though.

It even comes with a fancy infomercial

I just found out about this artist through a friend even though Igorrr is a project going on for almost 10 years already. But listening to the most recent album... I approve. I think it's brilliant, even though I'm well aware that this stuff is surely not for everyone (I'm also quite sure some people will think of it as being "noise" and "something everyone can do"). In fact, I think it's catering to only a small group. And considering the forum I'm posting this right now, I think a fair share will find his stuff overwhelming to say the least.

As for style; it's experimental for sure, blending anything from grindcore to breakcore to baroque.

As a kid, I knew Lou Rawls as the singing voice of Garfield. When I got older, I discovered how awesome he was long before he did that series.

The original cast recording of The Fantasticks. I'm not a big fan of musicals, but for some reason this show just melts my heart. Jerry Orbach definitely owns this record, but Rita Gardner gives him a serious run for his money.
 
Another of my wintertime selections: Tilly and the Wall's Wild Like Children. Apparently they recorded it in some basement in Nebraska in the dead of winter, and the result was this. It will always have a special place in my heart. It got me through a rough winter in northwest Michigan.
