  • I went to see my dentist today and he has prescribed me steroid pills because he thinks the underlying problem in my jaw is either a glandular or muscular issue.

How's it going with the stuff the dentist prescribed?

Is this the first time anybody medical has attempted to treat the situation?

The swelling in the side of my face has gone down but there is still some pain. I also have “sharp” pains in my forehead.

    It is.

The first treatment plan I was supposed to follow for TMJ dysfunction was called Aspirin Therapy.

20 to 30 aspirin per day.
I had to take a long route to drive around the Christmas parade. It blocked off all the streets by the library.
I feel like a pariah in this community.

You feel like an outsider just about everywhere, don't you?

You're building up to gala therapy session, seems like.
It’s now the final month to this year. I still don’t have a girlfriend, I flunked out on the last college course I took, I got bullied once again, and I lost friends. I don’t know how much more I can take things.

Reflecting on the year behind you can be useful for a moment, but consider your successes equally to your perceived failures. Keep your thoughts in balance if you can - there were good and bad things mixed together and it is important that the difficult things do not overshadow every happiness that you experienced. The end of the year does not have to be a deadline for anything.

@Rodafina I always felt like if the year ended and I still didn’t have a girlfriend that it meant I had failed. It also made me feel like that’s how it will always be. But are you saying it doesn’t have to be either thought?
    Rodafina

    @Markness
Correct. I don't think either one of those thoughts has to be attached to not having a girlfriend by the end of the year.
I actually laughed myself awake this morning.

    Having a dream?

A very bizarre and funny dream.

You could seriously lead with that. If I was a girl I'd go out with a guy who said that about himself.
That must have been a wonderful dream!
I checked out a volume of The Sandman since it introduces a character I learned about from a secondhand source and I like the character from what I’ve learned of her.
I wanted to start sketching today but I woke up late, I still have Swimmer’s Ear, and I am hungry so I can’t focus.

    So...

You're up now. Eat something, and start sketching in about an hour or so.

It's not even 2 p.m. It's not like you slept the day away. You have oodles of time.

    Oodles of time for doodles!
I finished reading Everville last midnight. I liked it more than The Great and Secret Show in some ways but it also reminded me of my social isolation and the fact I still don’t have anyone special in my life.

Read what you like. If books about loneless get to you good. Don't read books about romance and happy couples and crap like that. I use to watch that Hallmark movie crap and believe it.
I wonder if I can still utilize creativity at my age.

I'm about to turn 42 and I've no problem doing that, so... I'd say the answer is yes. If you allow yourself to do so, that is.

Why would you lose your ability to use creativity as you age? Logically speaking, creativity and the confidence to use it would strengthen with age. Positivity is important, Markness. Try looking on the bright side of things today.

I drifted away from it. Had a small group of friends and we played an online game together. But none of them play it anymore, and I still do.

With all the attention you receive with each new post and each new thread, I am surprised you think this way.
Was I meant to be disliked?

Who, exactly, would mean for you to be disliked? It takes effort on your part to be liked, and you have received ample advice and many suggestions on what efforts to undertake.
I bought a sketchbook and some sketching pencils last night but I am indecisive about what to sketch.

Just pick something. Just do something. Anything.

Paralysis by Analysis affects even the most creative minds. Stop worrying about what other people will think and just draw something.
I’ve been reading Jacqueline Carey’s Kushiel’s Dart for the last few days. It’s a book I once thought of reading many years ago but the length of it daunted me. However, I can handle huge books better now since reading Clive Barker’s Imajica.
