  • I wanted to start sketching today but I woke up late, I still have Swimmer’s Ear, and I am hungry so I can’t focus.

    So...

You're up now. Eat something, and start sketching in about an hour or so.

It's not even 2 p.m. It's not like you slept the day away. You have oodles of time.

    Oodles of time for doodles!
I finished reading Everville last midnight. I liked it more than The Great and Secret Show in some ways but it also reminded me of my social isolation and the fact I still don’t have anyone special in my life.

Read what you like. If books about loneless get to you good. Don't read books about romance and happy couples and crap like that. I use to watch that Hallmark movie crap and believe it.
I wonder if I can still utilize creativity at my age.

I'm about to turn 42 and I've no problem doing that, so... I'd say the answer is yes. If you allow yourself to do so, that is.

Why would you lose your ability to use creativity as you age? Logically speaking, creativity and the confidence to use it would strengthen with age. Positivity is important, Markness. Try looking on the bright side of things today.

I drifted away from it. Had a small group of friends and we played an online game together. But none of them play it anymore, and I still do.
I worry that others have given up on me.

    Yes, you do.
How much does that help you?

With all the attention you receive with each new post and each new thread, I am surprised you think this way.
Was I meant to be disliked?

Who, exactly, would mean for you to be disliked? It takes effort on your part to be liked, and you have received ample advice and many suggestions on what efforts to undertake.
I bought a sketchbook and some sketching pencils last night but I am indecisive about what to sketch.

Have you noticed this recurring theme for yourself? You can't decide so you are immobile.

Just pick something. Just do something. Anything.

Paralysis by Analysis affects even the most creative minds. Stop worrying about what other people will think and just draw something.
I’ve been reading Jacqueline Carey’s Kushiel’s Dart for the last few days. It’s a book I once thought of reading many years ago but the length of it daunted me. However, I can handle huge books better now since reading Clive Barker’s Imajica.
I lost some hours that I could’ve used to read because I got stricken with sudden sleepiness. :(

That's a remarkable way to describe feeling sleepy, as if it were an attack of illness or suffering of some type.
I am going to listen to Blind Guardian’s Nightfall in Middle-Earth when I drive to Waco this coming evening.
I really need to read something enjoyable to escape the world tonight.

I did but technically it happened in the morning because I dozed off on the couch until midnight.
    Anyone else spending Halloween alone?

My life group was cancelled again so yes, another Halloween alone without a girlfriend or a friend as a girl. It sucks.

Yep. And no Trick-or-Treaters since I live in a Holdout House...a house surrounded by 'progress' and which the owner refuses to sell despite the amazing offers of cash.

Just my wife, myself, our housekeeper, the dogs, the cats, and whatever it is that lives in the spaces between the walls.
