  • I wish you could just book a doctor's appointment online, I hate phoning

The clinic I'm with has been using an online booking system for several years now. It definitely makes things easier since you can see the availability. The main downside is that you get some multiple choice and/or checkbox options for reason for visit and what you need, but there's only a 25 character limit for writing something in.

You may wish to encourage your doctor to consider getting and using an online booking system since it kind of benefits everyone, especially for clinics with multiple doctors where such a system can result in a lot more efficiencies.

I do have the NHS app which I thought would help a lot but it barely lets you do anything on it
Why does the news keep acting like every outbreak of illness is a new pandemic?

News services have been playing this same game for over a century, these days we call the style Click Bait. I have yet to find a news service provider that just supplies facts, all of then put twists to a story to capture your interest. The catchiest trick of all is to cause one group of people to turn against another group, that gets both groups reading their articles.

Because it $ells well to a target audience. Rather than merely report the news, they induce degrees of hysteria.

@Misty Avich yep, pretty much the "Boy Who Cried Wolf" story, except dumber. The truly insidious part, in my view, is that they do all of this in such a way that gets people genuinely addicted to watching. Those people wont even think to look anywhere else, or just learn about the world on their own. They're too dependent on that point. My whole family is that way, it's frustrating.
I'm getting bored with the mundane routine in the Sims 2, even with the cheats. Can someone suggest a few things I can do to make my Sims family more exciting? Lol

That would be super convenient if it worked that way in real life, wouldn't it?

Any cool mods? That's usually what my wife does when she's bored of 4 vanilla.

With the Sims3 I used to use the cheats just to create buildings and neighborhoods. Had no interest in the "Sims" themselves...lol. Though I never used the program in Windows 10 given the telemetry of Origin/EA Arts. Nice to hear EA finally dumped Origin, but I'm still suspicious as to the nature of the "EA App". Hmmm...never considered it on Linux using Wine, but it's documented.
Just wasted £10 on an audiobook that I found wasn't what I was looking for (the sample didn't give away much). The greedy Google play books won't give me a refund. £10 is £10, it's a lot to waste.

It is online, a download from Google play books.

    Oh, OK.
I don't know anything about stuff like that.
My audio books come from the library mostly.

I prefer to listen to audiobooks from my phone because it's all there like you don't have to keep changing discs. Which is odd coming from me, who prefers DVDs over Netflix or Disney+ lol
Hope I don't catch a cold from my colleague at work, he gave me a pen to sign something with then I touched my eye after handling the pen, sometimes it's hard to remember to keep your hands virus-free every second of the day
So glad I don't have a phobia of snow any more. Those days were a nightmare, not just for me but for my family.

How did you get past negative feelings about snow?

I don't know really, just grew out of it somehow. I used to love it as a kid because it meant a day off school. I started getting a phobia when I was 19, it was awful.
A guy who used to work in my garage and who had a pacemaker, had a heart attack and died suddenly a couple of years ago. I think I know the cause of it. Engineers keep blasting the horn in the garage. It startles me and hurts my chest, and I don't have a heart condition nor a pacemaker. So no wonder he had a heart attack working here.
Decided to watch Thomas The Tank Engine for the first time in years, never knew how cliquey the trains were, jeez they're like us humans in the workplace lol
The yellow book is finally available on Amazon, and I've ordered it and it's coming on Friday or Saturday. Horray!

Royal & Langnickel, I have all the colours except yellow, which I will now have. They're to write my memoirs.

OK. I have some books that are known for their colored covers, but
    they are fairy tale books.

Mine are blank, supposed to be sketch books but I use them to write my stories (memoirs). They're A5. My husband says they're like Charles Dickens books lol. I can't stand lines when writing stories by hand, it has to be blank paper as it looks more...can't think of the word.
I want to hear the wind and rain outside but I have to have earplugs or NC headphones on because of the upstairs neighbours always banging. You miss out when you have to shield your ears.
Why am I suddenly feeling depressed because of the fact that my brother's male friends fancied my cousin but never me, like 10 years ago? In fact everyone fancied my cousin. I get so envious of those sorts of girls.
