Things you miss the most from childhood.

Staying up late Friday and Saturday night watching Sci-Fi and Monster movies and eating gummi candies cause the parents just did the weekly shopping.

I miss the smell of the bakery and the fresh bread me and my grandma used to walk together to buy from the local bakery.

She’d answer any questions I asked en route.
The name of the tree with tiny white flowers (hawthorn) the bird I could hear singing was a blackbird, robin, goldfinch and so on.
Teaching me which blackberries I could eat straight off the bush.
Being patient while I marvelled at the patterned tiles on a certain set of steps we had to use on our walk and waiting while I repeatedly walked up and down them.
Always buying me an egg custard from the bakery for “being good” but never letting me have it until I’d eaten at least two thirds of what was on my plate at meal times.

She was a bit scarey but knew a whole lot about lots of things.
( or so it seemed when I was about 3-4 years old)
