  • I wonder if I can still get better at the guitar and drawing despite my age?

I'm still learning new licks on my banjo.

Age is no barrier to improving at artistic pursuits. What matters is how much time you spend practising.

I picked guitar back up a few months ago. I've done a good amount of practising, and it's reflected in my improved playing of the riffs I've been learning. Half an hour or so of practise every day culminates in marked gains in playing ability over time.
    I overate again.

I did too :/ I always do when I get food from a restaurant. But right now all my cooking stuff is packed up.
However, I don't regret eating Brussels sprouts with pancetta and pomegranate, and calamari in orange sauce. The restaurant is expensive as hell but the food is top tier so I will definitely be back at some point.

Your head needs to be smarter than your mouth or
else your stomach, guts, and pooper will regret it.

I have done that. I don't like how I feel fatter after.
Elden Ring has been taking time away from my other interests.

Everything I've heard about that game suggests that it's a real challenge. Long as you're having fun, a good challenge like that can be a treat.

And it's keeping you occupied which is great.

I use to be a gamer as I kid, teen and young adult. Helped me thought those lonely nights

To my detractors: Please stop wishing that I’ll never have a girlfriend. Just please stop.

@Slime_Punk Haha, well, i know there were a few Spidey games on SEGA but i don't think i ever played them. But the quote is from the original Mortal Kombat trilogy games, you'd see that in the arcade sometimes walking by, and then I think the arcade games would make Shao Kahn do an evil laugh when the quote fades out (or he'd say like "don't make me laugh!!" Or something)

Nobody who developed Mortal Kombat was the originator of that line.
I don’t want to give up on looking for the love of my life.

You don’t have to give up. But you can set other goals for yourself too, and there’s no rush to reach any of them.

I think the love of our life has to be ourselves.

It's our life, and if we don't love ourselves - then any relationships we have with anyone will be fraught with challenges that could probably feel less overwhelming if our inner voice was one of love, and not negative thoughts/emotions that bombard us all the time.

    Great.

So in keeping with that goal, you're ready to commit to
losing the incessant negativity you've been displaying
    about yourself?
Will people like me more when I have a girlfriend?

People already like you here. I like it when you post.

"Would liking myself help me become better received?"
Yes. Unconsciously, others are like, "If even he does not like himself, he must really be a jerk...!"

You need to find your own value. Expecting somebody else to complete you is foolish and abdicating being responsible for your own happiness. Nobody is going to provide you with what you lack emotionally.
I am tired of people treating me poorly while insisting I am the one who is in the wrong.

Okay, seriously: WHO are these people? What's the situation, and what might you do about it? Just repeating "thing is bad" isnt helpful. But "thing is bad and here's what I'm going to do about it" IS helpful.
I can only cry in small amounts.
Should I take a break from posting?

To be honest, if posting is making you feel worse about yourself and you don't enjoy the experience of using the forums, then taking a break and focusing your efforts inwardly might be best for you. Of course, I don't know if that's actually the case, or why you are considering taking a break. In any case, I wish you the best.

I take breaks sometimes, and it's sometimes nice to have time to work a little. Depends on what you want to do.

Write to yourself and let everything out. I prefer a digital journal but it's your choice.
