Leo Fender, inventor of the Fender guitar, didn't actually know how to play.
I used to play the piano but turns out I was actually better suited to play the American/reed organ.
Tell you what I'd focus on with this---Do something that you love, because you love it, and then work on getting legally emancipated from your mom. Break the cycle of sadness & let's see you go somewhere.

Sure you can, you just have to do three things. Practice, practice and practice.

I am 41 and still need to get better at guitar.There is always something new to learn. And just find enjoyment in it and getting better will manifest out of that. I suspect that pertains to any hobby or special interest.
