  • Did I miss out on social opportunities by not smoking and drinking in my 20’s? Should I have forced myself to enjoy both things back then?

It doesn't sound like anything you need to be involved in.
*not minding it* isn't exactly a rip roaring acclamation of
    enjoyment.

I just wish it didn’t seem like smoking and drinking were requirements for socialization.

I don’t like alcoholic drinks either. An exception to that is a chocolate cocktail. And I like Irishman Coffee. And yes, there’s a difference between Irish Cofee and Irishman coffee.
One of the CDs I ordered had a jewel case that was broken beyond repair. I took out the booklet and back inlay, took apart the jewel case of another CD I was initially intending on donating, and placed the prior’s stuff inside it. I feel like I exercised my brain.

Same thing works on cassettes (and defective cassettes can be repaired with parts of another one too--Good if you're preserving rare or underground '80s-'00s music.)

I've been there. That's cool that you still buy CDs, too!

Solving problems is exercise for your brain.
I wish I could participate in music discussions and actually have my contributions appreciated instead of scoffed at.

Music that isn’t just mainstream and discussions about the subcultures.

That's how it is with hobbies though, it aint just you and it aint just music. I cant have a bloody conversation about video games either without someone eventually bursting into flames. Better to just go enjoy the hobby/interest rather than worry about what others think.
My mother judges me on my interests but she watches tv shows that feature people getting shot, stabbed, burned, poisoned, tortured, murdered, and raped.
A dog ran out in the street while I was driving and got close to my car! Thankfully I didn’t hit it!

    Good.
    For both of you.

Omg, that’s so scary!!! I’m glad you and the dog are okay!
I have had to save dogs that were hit by cars and it’s not something you would ever hope to see.

In March 2020 I was in the right place at the right time and administered emergency first aid to a golden retriever who was run over on a main street. The dog survived because a woman helped me get him to the vet, but locating his owners and telling them was so emotionally painful.
I’ve become a fan of the band Gojira again.

I realized I missed hearing their style and I don’t let elitism rule my tastes anymore.
I wonder if I can still get better at the guitar and drawing despite my age?

I'm still learning new licks on my banjo.

Age is no barrier to improving at artistic pursuits. What matters is how much time you spend practising.

I picked guitar back up a few months ago. I've done a good amount of practising, and it's reflected in my improved playing of the riffs I've been learning. Half an hour or so of practise every day culminates in marked gains in playing ability over time.
