Discovered the cabin fans are broken in the van when I was taking it to the bodyshop. Quite hard to see out of whilst driving. On the way there, the road was flooded. The journey ended up taking twice as long. Hopefully the new fault is just a fuse, but the bodyshop can repair it either way.
As ever, I put my mountain bike in the back of the van. With the road flooded I had to find a suitable alternative route. What should've been a 40 minute bike ride ended up taking over 3 hours. Many of the footpaths were flooded. Other parts were so thick with mud I had to walk. It was exhausting truth be told.
Got back home and got the bill from the mechanic. It cost me over 50% more than my "worst case scenario" budget. Still, at least the car is fixed.
Mind you, if the rust hadn't come back on the van, and if the car issues hadn't arisen; I'd have had enough for all the electrics and heating in the van and could be living in it by now. Instead it's delayed once again, and will be summer at this rate.
Life is testing me. But we grit our teeth and we push on through the detritus. Back to work tomorrow, so at least I can be distracted.
