Hi there. Any other novelists here?

I write novels to pass the time while I work towards trying to get a job. I'm currently on disability for mental health, and muscular dystrophy. My psych says I'm high functioning. I haven't been well for almost a decade but have written and self published over ten different books, and I've finished my thirteenth and working on my fourteenth and fifteenth at the moment. The thirteenth should be released in about five-six weeks. It's helped me tremendously deal with my illnesses and finding what I enjoy doing while I figure out how to handle being in public. I currently have agoraphobia, and have had panic attacks often when I'm out in public which I can't seem to handle without headphones on and music constantly playing. I'm doing my best to overcome it so I can enjoy life but I get ill a lot. I'm hoping to find friends here to chat and talk about writing, playing video games, making art and photography. Nice to meet all of you.

Nice to meet you as well! I highly reccomend the ARG novel called VERMIS. It tells its story through a game manual and I find it very unique too. (Like the people here.)

Nice to meet you, Quanta!
I'm no novelist (sadly), but books and reading are my special interest, and I also love to write. Sadly, I'm not very creative and I struggle to stay motivated and focused on a long-term project, so my writing usually ends up being only one scene or the start of something.
Looking forward to reading from you!

Hi and welcome. I have published 5 novels and couple of novellas under two different pen names.

Hello and welcome. I'm glad you are here. Where are your novels available for purchase? I've done a bunch of writing over the years, but nonfiction I'm afraid. I do not have a good imagination.

What do you write about?

Apple Airpods Pro changed my life. I put them in when I wake up in the morning and I sometimes I fall asleep with them at night. In public places the noise canceling can what feels like 80% of what I would hear.

Hello and welcome @Quanta.

Sounds like you've found a creative way to get through some difficult things and that writing has been very important to you. Hope you enjoy the forum.

I've had this story growing in my head for years. Even made maps for it, wrote down genealogies, etc.

But I keep trying to edit it while I write. At this pace It'll take me another 20 years to finish it 😅

Welcome. I've been working with an editor on my first novel for a while. I am on my third and what should be my final revision.

How do you stop yourself from editing as you go?

I mean, editing as you write, before finishing even a chapter?

It's so hard to do that. 😆

I don't think I'll ever get to the Editor stage.

I know things will change so I just get it down. Later I'll come back and polish it, then later yet, and so on

I can't stop myself.

I try, but sometimes it's like my brain and my hands start itching and I have to change it now!

Welcome to the forum! It's always good to meet other authors. I have had several short stories published. I've also written a few novel-length manuscripts which have not been published. :)

I’ve tried fiction writing recently. I don’t think I’ll be able to do it again for awhile. It’s hard for me!

I never had anything published. Rarely even have allowed others to read what I write, except for one short story.
