Hello From England

Hello, I'm Peter and have just joined this forum. I'm 38 years old, live in Essex, just outside London and was diagnosed with aspergers about 6 years ago. I've been single since the summer when I finally split up with my wife of 11 years. I find I'm a very up and down sort of person, love socialising but find it hard sometimes due to my inability to read signals and then have times when I just hide myself away at home too. I thought joining this forum would be a good way to interact with others who understand that and help me deal with and cope with my aspergers better as well as hopefully help others to as well. Look forward to chatting and getting to know you all! ;)

Hi Peter :)

Welcome aboard. I'm sure you'll feel right at home here.

Hiya Peter! You sound a lot like me---I like socializing, but it's difficult sometimes, and other times I would rather be alone. I'm sure many of us can relate to that, actually.

Welcome!

Hi Peter.

Socializing is something I really enjoy - only if I feel ok, which is how I feel right now.

Great to know you too :)

Hello Peter, welcome aboard to Aspies Central forums, if you don't mind me asking, when you split up with your wife, was it based on diagnosis reasons or was it just a lack of understanding? It could well be something on her side?

Some people who have joined the forum has actually found the resources coming directly from members themselves to actually be quite surprising rather than hearing it from the outsiders point of view.

Thanks for joining and posting. :)

Welcome to aspiescentral Peter! I joined at the beginning of November and I found a real sense of belonging here. Everyone is so supportive, and it really helps to get different viewpoints. I've learned so much. I know you will fit right in here and I'm glad you found us.

Sounds very familiar, Peter. Welcome to AC.

Thanks for the welcome everyone!

To be fair, I messed up big time over several years and then it all came out in one go. There probably were several contributing reasons I messed up like I did but I find it hard to talk about as it feels like I'm making excuses and I know I did wrong and dont like to weasel out of my mistakes but yeah, the way I deal with things and how I dont read signals are probably fairly major contributing factors.
