Hi, I've joined this site on behalf of a friend. He is 21 and has asperges. He is wanting to meet other like-minded people to make friends, perhaps a girlfriend, and potentially one day someone / some others to do shared living with? He is a lovely friendly guy who loves computer games and comics. Does anyone know if there are any social groups for people with asperges? Or sites for finding similar friends to live with? Or other ways of meeting people! Any suggestions welcome! Thank you x

You don't say where he's located. One possibility is to check and see if there's a Meetup group in your area.

It's good that he has a friend like you to support him!

florence,as he wants shared living, social services are very good at that-ive been under the adult learning disability team since 18 years old and theyve found me a new care home every year or more [i was kicked out a lot because of the severity of my autism and complex needs]-it can be anything from secure housing with great big fencing around to a mainstream flat that you just happen to share with a fellow autie/aspie, he would need to apply for a community care assessment but dont worry every UK human imaginable is entitled to one by law.

This is a very good idea. People forget that people with autism grow up. I am astonished how lax certain countries are in even lifting half a finger for HFA adults. You are in a good place and I hope he finds the perfect roomie! :-)
