Do you like lists?

My ADHD coach showed me a wonderful way of using a diary to organise myself ....lists and appointments....its just keeping it up ...which i suck at.....started it.....will get there
I use a diary to help keep myself organised, too. And post-it notes.

When I was in my teens (I'm now 58!), there was a gameshow on TV called "Celebrity Squares". There were 9 celebrities and 2 contestants. The celebrities had to answer general knowledge questions, and the contestants then had to decide whether the celeb's had answered correctly or not. The contestant who'd got the most right was the winner, and then, to win the prize, had to name 9 things in a category, e.g. European capital cities, winners of the F.A. Cup etc.

I find myself, even now, trying to think of 9 things in a category, then if possible, 15 or 20. My favourite things are boys' names, girls' names or people in the Bible beginning with a certain letter; but I do sometimes do other things as well, though usually things beginning with a certain letter.

Lists help me get things out of my head.

If I have thought it through and written it down, then I don’t have to rethink it. I will just go read what I wrote and follow my instructions to myself.

If I don’t write it down, it stays in my head to be continually questioned and reanalyzed.
