88 - precisely 912 less than the 1000 target for this thread. Flip the first digit upside down, divide the first two digits (reversed in order) by the last digit and write the result out the number of times as indicated by the last digit, and you get .... 88!! Weird coincidence, or have we stumbled upon something more??? :D
 
96 - the reason why I don't feel so bad for actually forgetting what year it was and for a whole year getting my age wrong when asked!!

Here's wiki to explain the confusion:

Year 96 (XCVI) was a leap year starting on Friday (link will display the full calendar) of the Julian calendar. At the time, it was known as the Year of the Consulship of Valens and Vetus (or, less frequently, year 849 Ab urbe condita). The denomination 96 for this year has been used since the early medieval period, when the Anno Domini calendar era became the prevalent method in Europe for naming years.
