I know I did really would post this in my video posts but I decided to out of here because I want to discuss this a bit.

Has anyone heard of the arc? Anyone have any sort of experience either from yourself or family or friends?

I also worked for The Arc in some of their group homes in Massachusetts. I enjoyed the community outings that we did and met some really great people who lived in the homes. One of the ladies I worked with was teaching me sign language.

In my work I was in contact with ARC providers of Adult Day Training, group homes and supported employment. This is in Florida. I’d say their services were for the most part old-fashioned and the quality was uneven. There might be some real gems among their employees, but mostly quite average to below-average.

Thanks for sharing Jen. I’m so happy you found a community that is giving you support and acceptance.
