    I am looking forward to a 4 day weekend all to myself. Lots of gaming and movies, with the occasional trip to the gym, and I will cook Thanksgiving dinner for myself. A turkey leg, mashed red potatoes, and steamed asparagus.

    I hate that it gets dark outside so early this time of year.

    One way I have managed to deal with this is to realize that
    as the days are progressively shorter with the dark coming
    earlier & earlier, once we get to the 3rd week of December
    with sunset right about 5PM-----after that, the length of
    daylight starts to increase.

    There's one positive aspect to January, for me.
    By the end of that month, there's more daylight.

    On June 21st I always draw a moon and a snowman on the calendar because it's the day where the days start getting shorter lol. It's so unreasonable that the days are getting shorter when summer STARTS.

    After being told by my entire family that my memory can never be trusted and that I have severe cognitive disabilities - I actually believed those lies for many years. I have been bamboozled and I was gullible enough to fall for it.

    I feel guilty because I personally allowed my family to keep on walking all over me and my boundaries for as long as I allowed them to. I was their easy victim, and I can only blame myself for that.

    But as innocent children, we don't know. We assume they will protect us and nutured us to be the best of ourselves. When you throw a mommy dearest into the storyline, all bets are off. All you can do is to start living your best life, and forget their lies.

    At least you got to this realization. Do you know there are adults who don't make it as far as you. They believe the hype spoon fed to them. I think you are remarkable.

    I heard many lies from my mother in the last weekend that were so blatant I did not bother to say anything about them. I wonder how she can sleep at night, then I remember she has to have her daily wine.

    That might be part of the problem. In my experience, the people who never want to grow up (emotionally) are the same ones who won't give sobriety a chance. You're much stronger than she is.

    I hate the holidays and the family gatherings that accompany them. I wish I had a good enough excuse to stay in my house with my Xbox away from that.

    Safeway/Albertsons sells uncooked turkey breasts and heat-and-eat ready made stuffing. That's my Thanksgiving plan.

    Trader Joe's came out with a vegan meat in the shape of a small turkey. It was so adorable. Too cute to cut up. My guest coming eats meat, but picked my bean burger over ground meat. He tried both, and the bean burger was a huge hit. I love cornbread stuffing with cranberry. My mom always made it with sweet Italian sausage.

    Maybe you will like holidays if you spend only with friends, or just a quiet holiday with you, and gaming, some good food, R&R.

    I just found out that a German beer hall just opened conveniently on the way home from my office, perfect for a Jager schnitzel and a stein full of beer. I wish I did not know about that.

    Do you think they have non-alcoholic choices? Maybe check online menu. I have tried Heineken non-alcoholic beer. It's great.

    I just ran out of CBD gummies that were helping with my back pain. Time to buy more. They are expensive.

    CBD products are often so expensive! :-( I'm glad you have found something that helps though! :) I hope you can get some more. CBD seemed to help with my pains a bit for a while but it seemed to stop working :-(
