    I don't think this is particularly painful, for sure. And the reason it happens boils down to Australia being a harsh environment, and that it's better for the species as a whole for the females to be well-nourished in pregnancy and lactation, than for the males to compete with them for limited food and survive to the next breeding season.

    The young born that year will provide all the breeding males required for the next breeding season. Little animals like that rarely live beyond 2-3 years anyway, in the wild. The really important thing to me is that the species doesn't go extinct.

    Did you know that because of the harsh environment, the male emu brings up the chicks after the female has laid the massive eggs? That way she can recuperate from that process and go take care of herself, while he shares the load by bringing up the babies. :)

    Yes!! It was like the one you showed me but had more storage. 1k was with all the protection coverage (which I apparently need, after drowning my laptop in teriyaki sauce) and antivirus. Ouch

    Both of my laptops seem to have kicked the bucket. Now I have to get a new one tomorrow and transfer all my files. Lots of $. Not happy.

    Sounds like maybe some loose connection in the innards somewhere or maybe overheating somewhere? ...with laptops that kind of thing is so impossible compared to desktop computers. Can't exactly open them and look easily...

    Different breeds have different metabolic rates too, and different energy levels. Of course he is going to burn calories faster than my Newfoundland.

    that's how neurotypicals are,even those amongst our family or friends who don't listen to what we try telling them,along with us getting snapped at over every little thing,as well as simple one,while also getting yelled at for it & being expeced to do or say nothing about it.

    One of the things I love best about dogs, they try. They goof up, but they really do try and it is impossible not to love them for it. I tell Zwi to go to his spot, (crate) which he knows and he plops down on his bed instead. Hey, he went, he waited. He did the command, just not quite as intended.

    Crying can be a real stress release, and that feeling of being on the borderline of crying but not quite, I actually find worse! :)

    @Callistemon Yes!! When I really want to cry, I watch videos I made of when I picked up each of my dogs at the airport when they were puppies, with emotional music. Gets me every time! :')

    Are you getting follow-on medicals from your blood tests? You'll feel much better with stabilised blood sugar and decent iron levels. Hugs your way.

    Test results are: extremely low blood sugar, severe anemia, low thyroid function (already being treated for those) and too much estrogen.

    Sending hugs. No wonder you felt bad. I hope they find a way of dealing effectively with the blood sugar regulation as well as the iron. Vitamin C at the same time as when you're having red meat aids absorption of iron. Likewise when you're having inorganic iron sources from plants, but the haeme iron is definitely quicker for restoring your own haemoglobin etc.

    @Gerontius Sounds like social anxiety happening. I was like that too, and then practiced the mindset of “they’ll probably not care” and “not the end of the world even if I overshared.” That helped calm me down.

    Social anxiety is one of those things that many people put up blocking their own success. I see it in autistics & neurotypicals alike--
    Have seen people have anxiety attacks strong enough that we called in an ambulance.
