What was the most irritating thing you got repeatedly told growing up?

why didn't christians explain the holy spirit of god is actually everywhere! g~d the the god in the quote is in heaven

Not sure if that would have worked either Streetwise :)
I can't ever remember them using the word holy Spirit to describe God. He was a person who was always watching me because I didn't behave, in my six year old mind... And according to these nuns
...but I couldn't see a person who looked like Jesus' dad...non of the teachers, not in the school, on the playground or in church.?
These nuns were insistent he was there !!
I couldn't see him (literally) so they were lying.

"Use your filter!"
"How many times have I told you to use your filter?!"
"What do you mean, you don't see what's wrong with what you just said?"

I too heard the "use your filter" saying often. More so, "you have to think about what you say before you say it!"

You'll never amount to anything... And they're kind of right sadly :(

Let's face it, I was diagnosed Aspie at 23, and now nearly 19 years later I can't get a job outside of the voluntary sector, am still single, and a virgin.

You’re stupid.
You’ll never amount to anything.
You’re a slut (When I had never done anything)
Your gonna end up pregnant.
So I agreed with my boyfriend to get pregnant so I would have to get married so I could get away from them. Then I had two kids, a great career and never looked back and never took my kids, their grandkids, to see them, ever.

you have to think about what you say before you say it!"
I couldn’t process to do that. If I could, I would have thought before I said it. It’s not like we lay awake all night trying to figure out how to embarrass ourselves the next day. Instead they would have told me to slow down a bit before speaking maybe. Oh gee! I can’t wait to act foolish tomorrow!
