What was the last movie you watched?

I went to the last screening of the day yesterday for "Mockingjay, Part one." I did not read the book again for this one; the flick seemed to follow my memory of the "Hunger Games" series for which I read all the books two or three times when it was new and before HG-2 was released. Enjoyed watching. There were 6 customers in the theater. Very often I get private screenings at these late showings that I attend late in the time a given flick is in the theaters and late at night.
 
I watched The Mission, and I have to say, while I realize it's a classic, my own opinion on it was so-so. I did love the way it was shot and the production design, however.
 
It's a month late, but here's my review of Big Hero 6:


Let me know what you think of the intro. I was planning to use it for any Disney related videos I might do in the future.
 
I'm currently watching "While You Were Sleeping" which is kind of a chick flick, but as you know, I am a girl. It's kind of like a Christmas tradition - I watch a lot of the same Christmas shows every year. Some others waiting in the wings are "Jingle All The Way", "Scrooged", "The Ref", and of course "Christmas Vacation" and "It's a Wonderful Life". I used to think "It's a Wonderful Life" was depressing and it took me a couple years to actually watch it all the way, but now I actually love it!
 
Equestria Girls: Rainbow Rocks. A rare example of a sequel being better than the original film in every way. Not that the original film was bad, mind you, but this one was a major improvement.
 
Megaman Dies At The End:


Watching this, I had a revelation. I realized I've been taking this animation thing way too seriously. I need to lighten up and just do stuff without thinking so much about making it "epic" or "cinematic" or anything like that. The serious projects can come later, for now I just need to practice more and build my portfolio. Funny how the silliest things can change your whole perspective sometimes.

The Godfather Part II

The two Godfather movies are definitely among my favorites. Especially the second; it's one of those rare films that I glean something new from on every viewing.
 
The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies. I've read the book, and while I don't think it needed three movies, there were some things I liked. Still, everytime Legolas showed up I couldn't help thinking 'Why; how; no, you're not in this book!' (possibly he could've been present in Mirkwood when Thorin's company stumbled through the forest, but that is reaching somewhat). Also the romantic sub plot was kind of random, even with Tauriel being an invention of the movie alone. So yeah, I still need to process this for a bit. Visual stuff was nice though.
