What is your current special interest?

How our pre-verbal brain is hard-wired to make decisions that the neocortex then rationalizes. Also, that "human nature" is not at all monolithic. Just as Ma Nature makes men and women, black and white, tall and short, she makes liberal and conservative, because each type is better suited to pass on genes in good times or bad, respectively.

Current interest - I am learning lapidary work (cutting and polishing stone). I will be starting work on a pendant for myself. My last project was replacing the scales on a knife with snowflake obsidian.

Current? My health insurer, and the stupidity and lack of problem-solving of their customer service representatives. Hopefully this "special interest" will be gone in a few days.

I just resent having to think creatively for them to solve my problems as a policyholder. You'd think that would be their job- not mine.

Ice hockey. My husband's fault. He's opened Pandora's Box with that one, lol.
It's pretty much his only special interest, and at least now we never run out of anything to talk to each other about...

I have an uncle who was an assistant hockey coach at U of Michigan. I enjoyed going to Red Wings games to see "The Production Line" of Gordie Howe, Ted Lindsay and Sid Abel. I once saw a game at the temple of hockey, the old Forum in Montreal.

That's super cool! Going to NHL games is always fun.
I always wondered why the Red Wings logo was not a red-winged blackbird, but that's just me taking things literally lol

Did you know of the Detroit tradition of tossing dead Octopusses on the ice during playoff games - symbolizing the eight games needed to secure the Stanley Cup?

I hope you notice that it is a winged tire - for the Motor City and wings denoting speed. The owner in 1932 created that logo and he used to play for the amateur Montreal Winged Wheelers.

Photography at the moment, although it is centered around building software for other photographers. Hoping to get back into more camping and hiking soon.

I’m currently going through a creative phase where I’m trying out new recipes if the ingredients are within my budget and not extremely time consuming and trying to teach myself how to do new types of crafts like knitting or sewing. I mainly want to learn how to make clothes and accessories for fashion dolls other than Barbie.
