What are the rules regarding posting Horror Stories on here?

With All-Hallows' Eve coming up, I was think about starting a thread in which we share horror stories, but I was wondering if they would conform with the rules on this site? Of the stories I'm thinking of sharing, there's only one of them that's genuinely gory, but the gore is so subtle, you have to listen through the entire story to figure out what it is and where it is; in fact, I actually had to go through the story twice before I caught it, even though I knew it was present there somewhere.

What are the rules on this site regarding horror stories.
 
There was a haunted house thread on Reddit r'Massachusetts and I gave two suggestions but got the response;Both of those old places had been demolished 10 years ago.
I guess I'm out of ideas:(
 
What sort of horror stories are we talking about? Stuff that we are to come up with ourselves, or stuff we've found elsewhere?
 
People have been telling scary stories to one another for a long time. I don't see it as circumventing the rules of the site whatsoever. As long as it stays within these boundaries:

3. Racial, gender (sexist), neurological, and religious hatred/discrimination will not be tolerated.
4. Do not post content that is explicit, degrading or offensive.
For example: porn, gore, death, death threats or similar.

Definition of gore as a verb:

1 : a small usually triangular piece of land
2 : a tapering or triangular piece (as of cloth in a skirt)
3 : an elastic gusset for providing a snug fit in a shoe

Definition of gore as a noun:

Gruesomeness depicted in vivid detail.
 
I'd say, go for it!

This is exactly the right sort of topic for this time of year. I know I'd enjoy it.

Though, as far as the gore aspect: This is something that maybe needs to be clarified by the mods specifically for a topic like this. I mean, it's halloween... anyone with functioning braincells will expect the probability of a bit of blood and/or death in horror stories. But we definitely dont want to go too far.

That being said, there's a big, big difference between "gore" as seen in something like one of the Simpsons' Treehouse of Horror episodes (as those are bloody, but clearly funny and entertaining instead of revolting) and what I'd call "true gore", which... some might also refer to as "gross-out gore". I doubt I have to give an example.

Really GOOD horror stories though dont go for extreme descriptions of that sort of thing. A good horror writer knows that's not what makes such a story good.

you might consider forming a PM/Inbox circle in which those interested
could share their favorite horror stories. Privately.
