Use a book as a signal

When meeting somebody on line, and then in person, you visit a public, safe place and look around. She is enjoying a beverage and wearing a pink sweater but are you sure she is Jennifer? If, as agreed, she is reading Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy then you can be much more certain that she is Jennifer and you can walk up and introduce yourself. Go see a movie.

THe book signal sounds like a good idea. much better than a so-called distinctive clothing signal that mightn't turn out to be so distinctive after all (unless it is a silver metallic sombrero with fuchsia pompons!)
