Problems finding a date

As someone that was Internet dating for a VERY long time before finding someone, I know what my issues were in the beginning. I'm not saying you have the same issues, but I'm going to mention mine in case it helps. My messages that I sent when I first started were simply regarded as too weird by NTs. I would try to send something more meaningful than a simple introduction. I tried to explain my interests and show how it matched with her interests. I would sometimes try to break the ice with some humor, not recognizing that what I think is humorous is VERY different from what others find humorous. If any of this sounds like you, ask a neurotypical friend to help you write your messages. You can still be yourself and not lie at all about who you are. But the way we word things on dating sites can sometimes be perceived as weird or even creepy to those not on the spectrum (Note: Please don't be offended by that. This was my experience, and I haven't seen your messages so I don't know if this applies to you.)

If you get someone to look over everything (your profile, your profile pictures, descriptions, and messages) you might find that a few tweaks and rewording drastically change the amount of responses. If this is the issue, you eventually learn what is and is not acceptable in messages and your profile. You then navigate the Internet dating world on your own, and after a number of dates you may find someone special. Best of luck.
