From the description, it sounds like gamma radiation. Goes through almost anything except lead. I wonder why it wasn't put into a lead container.
By rights it should have been in a larger shielded container with warning stickers all over it. I can't imagine such a dangerous thing being accepted by freight companies without serious safeguards in place, but the way that story reads this might not be the case.I wonder why it wasn't put into a lead container.
