The Florida lifestyle.

Those critters have recently invaded this region. I'm 61 and had never seen one before two years ago.
The beetles and other bugs here have disappeared since the cockroaches arrived.
Do you know what species they are in your photo? Thanks!

We call them Palmetto Bugs.
There are three different types. The one called American Cockroach is the huge, dreaded one
so dominent in FLorida.

When I first moved to Florida, I had never seen a roach so big, so smelly, that flies and bites.
I woke up with one biting my throat in night when renting an apartment.
Here is a link that tells all about them if you want to know more and can get through the
advertisements that pop up in it. It's interesting though.

The only scary thing you would find my mother's cupboards are enough homemade jam that you could eat a month only jam and there would still be some left.
