New guy here

Hi! I'm a new guy here.

Suspected that I might be on the spectrum after a lot of (not so) nice comments from people.

I took some of the online tests like AQ, RAADS-R, and the Aspie quiz, some of them more than once.

I was in denial for quite some time. Didn't trust the online tests all that much too. The thresholds just seemed too low compared to my results.

I can't get a diagnosis that easily in my country.
No point in getting one too, to be honest. A diagnosis would only serve as a hindrance because of my country's culture and preconceptions.

I'm just here to look for like-minded people, 'cause those are really hard to find for me.

We don't do much gate-keeping here. If autism seems to describe your life, and the things that tend to help autistic people seem to help you then,

Hello and welcome @llucid. It was first suggested to me last December and I took the tests like you did and didn't believe how high my numbers were compared to the thresholds. I didn't know what to do with this information as my understanding of ASD was limited to TV and severe ASD interactions and I didn't match up to that picture. It was hard to take in. I have since spent most of this year learning as much as I can about ASD, what it is and not how it presents to NTs. Formal diagnosis is a personnel choice, and I have started that process, but don't feel like you have to. like some others have said, what you feel matters and if learning about others here helps you in any way, that matters.

You can do what I did joined a myers briggs forum and they had a very comprohensive test thosands of questions took me hours. resuly 99% probabilty I was autistic shocked me had no idea what it meant. Now finding it out from this forum. Sure explained my life.
