My son arrived home from his deployment to Qatar this evening. We weren't sure he would make it till the last moment. :)

Like the old toys Nitro. I had that Erector set, a hand me down I believe.

This was one of my all time favorite gifts, around 1968 I believe. I still have it. :)

One photo from the skating rink tonight, unfortunately didn't have much time to even stay there so didn't get much, because I would have been late for the Christmas Eve service a few blocks away...

My Christmas this year? Rather quiet, actually went to two Christmas Eve services tonight, the one for my church, and one at another church (I'm diehard! :)), then went home...

As a single person who never married I'm mostly solo on Christmas... I always buy a bunch of special cheeses from the store to eat on Christmas Eve, on my own

Tomorrow, I'll be driving out to Banff with two friends of mine in the afternoon, I live only one hour drive away from the townsite of Banff, other than that nothing special... And then on the 26th back to work for me for two or three weeks of heavy shifts (the recycling industry after Christmas)

I just got home - went to my daughter in law's family's Christmas eve. Her mother has basically become my best friend, too. But they always include me and they are wonderful people. I know how loud they all are so I was smart and brought a fidget to fidget with as I sat in a chosen spot out of the way, in the corner and close to the food (so I wouldn't have to get up to fix my plate. lol) But as part of her Christmas present I took my good camera to get a family photo for her and will have it enlarged and framed. Oh, she got me a nice soft blanket and a cute little pillows that says "I like big mutts". :) But I'm home now - the rest of the evening they will have just family and I get to chill. :) Hope everyone on this forum has a merry Christmas and that it's the Christmas you want.
I spent my Xmas with a big mutt, and I have as a memory his big mutt fur on my pants. <3

Had to share this.

In case you wonder what a Warrior looks like..

Happy Holidays, and Merry Christmas, All.

May you all be well.

Some Christmas cheer from Banff tonight, or whatever you think of it, I just take photos of whatever catches my eye, or random happenings... :p

My great-nephew's Christmas joke this year:

Q: What do you get if you cross a skeleton and a detective?

A: Sherlock Bones.

My Christmas was a very special one, once again :)
I got some really nice gifts and had a great time with my family and some friends.

This offering from the early 1950s follows a theme:

It has a 110 volt electric motor with a open gearbox on it sufficient enough to drag a small house :p

There were many other gifts as well, but this is another one that stands out:

Woodward Fab makes these throatless bench shears for cutting metal plate, and I really wanted one.
Dad delivered, without question
It's not every day a guy needs to cut 1/8" or 3mm steel plate, but it sure will come in handy when I do ;)

My Christmas doesn't end on the 25th for me, so this morning, we had a small gathering for three of the girls who are part of my circle :)

Each gift bag had hand selected items for each of the girls, candy and of course the Clementine oranges.

They all opened up their bags and then went outside to play with their snap n pops and decorate my driveway with sidewalk chalk they each got:

I can't begin to express how happy I am to see what those who chose to participate on this thread had to offer.
That in itself is a very special gift I got from each of you.

Thanks for being another special part of my world :)

Last nights dessert! (with vanilla ice cream) My relatives were not far around me while I discreetly took this photo.
