What does everyone think of Microsoft Edge? I have been using Chrome but my laptop keeps telling me Edge provides better battery life. I'm kind of hesitant to switch browsers since I hated Safari so much. Is Edge much different from Chrome?

I prefer Chrome over Edge any day.

Don't have access to it since I'm not running Windows 8/10.

Though from my experience- and avoidance of multiple versions of Internet Explorer I'd say that in my case Microsoft would have a great deal to prove to me to get me to use their latest browser.

I have Chrome, but prefer to default to Firefox on my desktop system.

I don't like it. I use a Chromebook for the majority of stuff, but I have Edge on our PC and it's just Internet Explorer with a new name plastered on it. I found it to be slow and less intuitive than Chrome, although the intuitiveness could be partly down to getting used to Chrome.

I also have Edge on my Xbox One and it's simply atrocious on there, but that's not exclusive to Edge as every iteration of browser on the Xbox was bunk.

I had a deep passionate hatred with Chrome ( I guess because EVERYONE talks about it and that always, makes me go in the opposite direction), but now, I use it regularly; even over my favourite Yahoo!

I do not use Microsoft edge and when it pops up, it annoys me. I think that is because, the default browser has never been a strong browers and so, I am reluctant to give this one a go.

I hated Internet Explorer, Microsoft Edge is a bit better, but I still much prefer Chrome. I also sometimes use Opera and Firefox is pretty good alternative too. I've tried Safari, but I wasn't keen.

I might like Google Chrome, but I am really going off Google as a search engine for a couple of reasons. Firstly it now removes numerous results for various legal reasons (before you jump to conclusions I'm NOT talking about adult material). Secondly more and more search results have become Ad based, E.g. who pays the most money for Ad words and thirdly more information is now tracked by Google (there's a lack of privacy and they also use the information to target Ads). Google are greedy and money talks, but at least it hasn't noticeably compromised their browser, well not yet anyway, although Chrome is not open source, so are Google planning on hiding something in future? (please note that Chromium is open source, this is NOT Chrome, but it is a feasible alternative). Anyway I have started using DuckDuckGo as a search engine alternative to Google.

I prefer it to the Chrome browser after several years of using Internet Explorer on a Windows machine.

I'm kind of stuck with the Chromebook because you can't hardly do anything with it except browse and download Google certified apps, if I had Windows 10 I could do more creating for my YouTube channel of Xbox One footage, and possibly even try and get a license to create my own Xbox games on Unity.

It seems me and you have Chromebooks in common, as well as being Xbox players, so perhaps you're not that bad after all
