1990s Alternative Rock

Until I went looking for a clip to post here I always thought it was a woman singing this song. It made more sense that way.

 
Slightly older but deserves a mention. I always wondered if they were singing about an autistic kid.

 
1986-1992 probably best years of my life. It's the years I can't remember, I born in '86
 
This was never a hit, in fact it's quite obscure, but it certainly counts as Alternative.
 
One night, I was going down the street in my wheelchair. I had forgotten my earbuds, so I was playing this song out loud on my cellphone. Every single person between the ages of 40 to 50 turned wide eyed and surprised. Some remarked. I think this is one of those Generation X anthems.
