Writing and keeping up with lists

I have trouble remembering tasks and I am always told to write a list. But I also have trouble remembering that I wrote a list. Are there any methods to help with this?

I have trouble remembering to put things on the list... so I get some items but not other things I need, due to forgetting to list them. I think I will create a list of everything I usually may need, then read it through to make each weekly list.

I tend to remember where things are by keeping them in a place I designate, so, my list is always in my diary, or, my scissors are always in the cutlery draw, etc.

Same. I tried a small whiteboard to write the really important things down. But we are all on such autopilot right now (or at least I am ) that i often don't look at it.

That's what I use Post-It Notes for. And always stick them in a prominent place where they are "in my face" more often than not. Like right below my computer monitor. Kind of hard not to notice it! ;)

I make lists on my iPhone and i constantly check them daily. I have a note for shopping lists, wish list and daily tasks

I physically write a list and put it somewhere I've designated for it, and make it part of my routine to check where I put lists. A perk of autism is if I don't check the lists it irritates me since that's changing my routine. lmao

I do some of both, using pen and paper, and sometimes my phone, but I do like lists

Even a note that's visible to me to remind me of things I need to do

I had a routine change here at home recently (I live with my sister) to collect the mail... I have been here since 2003 in the same place, but never picked up the mail, it wasn't my job... What I did was to create a daily reminder on my phone, as an "event" or whatever... As I go about my day, as I walk most every day, it's a visual reminder for me

More to your question, when you make a list try to always have all your lists in the same spot of the room, so you know where to look for them... Or if the list pertains to a certain area of your house, put the list there... If anything of this makes sense

I do the same thing. My computer tower is on my desk and it is covered with notes, along with the bottom part of the monitor. They usually stay there until until I run out of space. Then I pull a old one off so I have room for a new one. Somewhere on my desk I have a plaque that says "A Clean Desk is a Sign of a Sick Mind". I have not seen it lately.

Seeing this thread reminded me to update my shopping list :P

For me, whenever I write a note to do something, I remember anyway without needing to be reminded. Just writing it helps me remember, I guess.

But I rarely remember to write down what I need to do anyways, so I tend to forget a lot.

Do you have a smart phone? I use a calendar on there and it can remind me of any number of things with a notification or I can just check it myself.

I get a free wall calendar from my bank every year and it goes on my kitchen wall. That's where I write all of my appointments and bills that need to be paid etc.

The things l hate doing are the ones of course which l remember the most. Lately, my memory came roaring back. Maybe l was eating food that didn't agree with me before.
