Ah, that I can understand. The Escort was one of those quirky Fords; you either got a good one or a bad one.
Ugh, it sounds like you got one of the "bad ones." That is most unfortunate. It reminds me of the Aerostar I had. I heard that a lot of folks had problems, but I must have gotten one of the "good ones." The only reason I sold it was I didn't need a mini-van and a Crown Vic. It was a '93 and still going strong.
Dang, that sounds like what we used to do to the demolition derby cars we set up back in the day. Sheesh, talk about being rigged. I hope you can get it through the inspection okay. I've lived in a few places that had state inspections of one type or another. It's a shame that they don't understand that sometimes a person is doing good just to afford gas for the vehicle let alone a bunch of repairs.
That's great you were to get some assistance with it. With all the repairs, I imagine it will serve you for a while.
