Word Association Game

Ah, that I can understand. The Escort was one of those quirky Fords; you either got a good one or a bad one.

It somewhat decent now, since I replaced the engine (it blew a rod 3 weeks after I bought it), replaced the rotors and drums, as well as the brake lines and cables, replaces the o2 sensors twice, replaced the flex pipe, replaced the cabin blower motor, replaced the stereo, replaced the front end, replaced the struts, put new tires on the front, done a tuneup twice, and now I have to replace the engine and transmission mounts. I still have to get new tires for the rear, so it will pass state inspection before October, unless I want my roommate, who's a PA state trooper issuing me fines and tickets come November.
 
Ugh, it sounds like you got one of the "bad ones." That is most unfortunate. It reminds me of the Aerostar I had. I heard that a lot of folks had problems, but I must have gotten one of the "good ones." The only reason I sold it was I didn't need a mini-van and a Crown Vic. It was a '93 and still going strong.

I bought this beast from a buy here, pay here place. When they replaced the engine (and added another $1600 to the total financed to the car), they found out that whoever owned this car, before it went to auction, that the engine and transmission were directly welded to the frame! (And I was wondering why it took 3 weeks to get this beast repaired.)
 
Dang, that sounds like what we used to do to the demolition derby cars we set up back in the day. Sheesh, talk about being rigged. I hope you can get it through the inspection okay. I've lived in a few places that had state inspections of one type or another. It's a shame that they don't understand that sometimes a person is doing good just to afford gas for the vehicle let alone a bunch of repairs.

If it weren't for Luthera Social Services, my car would be sitting in the driveway being undriveable.
