What portrayals of autism in the media AREN'T annoying?

I started this post because I am watching Alphas right now. There is an autistic character, Gary, that started out just plain annoying. In the show, he has the ability to see and understand electronic communication in the air around him. They use him mostly for the quick electronic surveillance solution to find the bad guys and move the story forward. They've done the bare minimum character development for him.

I'm hoping they develop him a little more in season 2, but I not optimistic.
