Using a tracker to make music.

It's my first time using a tracker to make music on the computet, and I downloaded Madtracker to do so, and I also plan on downloading Famitracker to make chiptines. Anyone else into using these programs and making music using computer software? Also, what is Demoscene culture? Is that a subculture I could get invested in?
