Hi. I'm 16, from the UK. Self diagnosed aspie though I think my dad is diagnosed but he pretends it doesn't affect him. He won't let me get a diagnosis for fear of future employment problems and my mum denies theres anything wrong with me, which there so obviously is. Anyway, I came here because all other attempts at making friends even on the internet have failed miserably, and after six years of trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong. I'm starting to struggle in school as I'm pretty sure I have ADD and the lights in all the classrooms make me zone out, and also socially everyone is moving on to levels I cant pretend to keep up to anymore, I'm being left behind by the few people that put up with me.

As you can expect, as a person on this forum, I am not good at communicating in the slightest and even the little rules here are hard to pick up so, like, sorry if this is not the type of thing I'm meant to post or I don't reply or did something wrong. I don't know. Anyway.

Welcome. Also from the uk, I'm 34, self-diagnosed, awaiting diagnosis. Not a lot of things make me tearful but your post did. School was such a massive struggle for me too, in my case my parents weren't in denial but their attempts to help me always hit a brick wall. The school lights used to make me zone out too, that or give me a massive migraine. There is nothing wrong with you, its the others there is something wrong with.
