Riddles

A neck have I and yet no bone.
I encountered a spider and now it is gone.
They say I have a beak yet I'm not a bird.
I'm odd among my kind as perhaps you have heard.
What am I?

New riddle:

I begin always after I leave my mark,
Some question me, turning friction to spark.
In the dark I can find light,
I can turn wrong into some right.
But I can fail every time too,
Or even inform, entertain or persuade you.

What am I?

Revised clue below slightly

Clue:

Lines 1, 2.5, (4 ) and 5 may be the keys to solve me,
So figure out the important word in each part there
Add the first two, reverse, and let that be,
Then think about resolving correctly to avoid word number (four ) and three.
