Our Mountain Ash in Victoria are bigger, same size as the Sequoias in the US. The one in the picture is being measured and recorded as the largest Tasmanian Bluegum, part of an anti logging campaign.
I remember seeing redwood trees (at least I think that's what they were) in a super old book where they had hollowed a tunnel through one and a horse and cart were passing through. It looked unreal!

The people in the picture you posted look like pixies! Lol! It's one of those things where a limited frame of reference distorts you perceptions! :-)

I have seen some pics like that too. I have worked a lot with trees, felling trees and all sorts of things but I have never seen a tree like that. I think you need explosives to take it down instead of a chainsaw.
