Awesome. Thanks for sharing. Haven't enjoyed racing on water in many years, since personally watching a family friend and two other pilots of unlimited hydroplanes all killed in the same race on the Potomac River.

Frankly this looked equally dangerous. Loved the idea of the person up front providing ballast depending on the real time conditions of the water and sudden turns necessary depending on the river itself. And clearly watching them successfully navigate the right tributaries in the process. Truly a two-person effort where each is as valuable as the other.

And the "go-pro" camera angle....wow. :cool:

Colloquially a small aluminium boat here is known as a Tinny, deliberately the same slang term we use for a can of beer. The two often go together hand in hand. :)

I imagine that course changes every year too because rivers never sit still, what's navigable one year might not be the next. The competitors would have to spend a couple of days orienting themselves before the race starts.
