We do sushi a little bit different in Australia. Here it's a very common and very cheap fast food and the rolls aren't cut up, you buy them whole and they can be eaten one handed while walking down the street. Everything is made fresh and you can usually see them making more and restocking their displays while you're getting served.

We don't just put raw fish in sushi, you can get it with any meat raw or cooked including chicken, pork and beef, this gives an incredible amount of flavour options. No self respecting Aussie will eat supermarket sushi, unless we can see it being made we wouldn't trust it.

And in searching for a picture to add to my post I discovered that there's now a couple of Aussie sushi shops opened up in the UK and they've become very popular.
