Yes, melon juice, especially when exposed and left unrefrigerated, can attract flies, particularly fruit flies. Flies are drawn to sugary substances like fruit juice, especially when the fruit is fermenting or decaying. [1, 1, 2, 2, 3, 3]
Here's a more detailed explanation:

• Fruit Flies: Fruit flies are particularly attracted to fermented and rotting fruit, which is why they are often found near ripe or overripe melons. [1, 1, 2, 2]
• Other Flies: While fruit flies are the most common, other types of flies, like house flies, can also be drawn to decaying organic matter. [3, 3]
• Exposed Fruit: When melon juice is left exposed, it provides an easy source of food and attracts flies. [2, 2, 4, 4]
• Sugar Content: The high sugar content in melon juice is a major attractant for flies. [5, 5]

Statistically, I am not worth betting on.

I decided to see how many people could be like me in the world. I have always been an odd bird, so I knew there wouldn't be many. I took various things about myself that I could find population statistics for, and ran the math. Since I didn't do this with EVERY characteristic of myself, my calculation is way more liberal than it would be had I been able to include everything.

I start with my blood type -- AB- .6 % of the world population

I am male, which is currently 50.7 %

My Meyers-Briggs profile INTP 3.3 % (This one is kind of arbitrary - Myers-Briggs is often criticized as pseudoscience, but they had percentages posted for the different profiles)

I'm autistic 3.2 %

Percentage at or above my IQ 9.2 %

Percentage of physicists in world .0002 %

World population 8.2 x10^9 (billion)

The numbers ranged from very large to very small, and the calculator total quickly went to 0 using straight number values, so I used scientific notation.

(6x10^-3)x(5.07x10^-1) = 30.42x10^-4 = 3.042x10^-3 AB- males

(3.042x10^-3)x(3.3x10^-2) = 10.04x10^-5 = 1.004x10^-4 INTP AB- Males

(1.004x10^-4)x(3.2x10^-2) = 3.212x10^-6 Autistic INTP AB- Males

(3.212x10^-6)x(9.2x10-2) = 29.55x10^-8 = 2.955x10^-7 Autistic INTP AB- Males => my IQ

(2.955x10^-7)x(2x10^-6) = 59.11x10^-13 = 5.911x10^-12 Autistic INTP AB- Male => my IQ physicists

(5.911x10^-12)x(8.2x10^9) = 48.47x10^-4 = 4.847x10^-3 Autistic INTP AB- Male => my IQ physicists worldwide

4.847x10^-3 = .004847

So there should be less than 5 1000ths or 1 200th of a person matching my selected characteristics.

A single 200th of a person is of course WAY less than one, so apparently I don't actually exist.
