Movies/TV/Anime to watch when you Want to Feel Depressed.

When I watch a show that does have a depressing end, I daydream up an alternative ending that I like better where the characters don't die or don't make the bad choices or whatever the particular situation is. If I had a crush on the character and/or the character had one or more major traits that I related to (a skill, a special interest, a personality trait, or even a symptom) then I can turn imagining better happy outcomes with entirely different story plots that just borrow sections from the beginning of the story into a bit of a special interest obsession for weeks or even months.

Full Metal Jacket. The sergeant is a hoot.

If there is one thing in this world I hate, it is an unlocked foot locker. 😡

🙂

🍩 🚫

Now get on your knees!

They're paying for it. You eat it. 🤪

One. Two. Three. Four. I love marine corps.

🧼 💰 😵 🛌

WHY!? 😭 🪖 🪖 🪖 🪖 🪖

Remember, fat boy. It is just a bad dream. 😈

I do that too, or just look for fanfiction with happy endings hahah.

I used to love depressing stuff, maybe because it makes me feel better about my life. "At least my life is not THAT bad" type of thinking.

Depressing anime- Madoka Magica, Rose of Versailles, Oniisama e.

Depressing movie- I watched a lot, but Lilja 4 ever is the most horrible one. It is not only depressing, but devastating.

I read fanfiction too. What gets frustrating is when you're halfway through and realize that the fanfic writer kept the aspects of the story that you wanted to have NOT happen.😅 I have found some I really liked too though. I especially like to read the ones that incorporate the reader into the story AND have a better outcome. I don't watch anime. I like for shows to have actual humans playing the parts so that it fits right into what I see in reality better.

Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away. Anime Storylines are (on the surface) quite childish and somewhat disturbing in that they depict some deep set desire to depict Japanese as western (I'll leave it at that) and unfortunately the legendary filmmaker, Hayao Miyazaki, did fall for this formula too. However dig deeper and there in plain sight is Japanese culture and spiritualism which to me is one of the most beautiful forms of art I have ever seen. Samurai Champloo is the same, silly stories but beautiful artwork and music. Seems to always pick me up.

When I'm really feeling down I will watch all the Marvel movies in order. Usually by Infinity War I'm back to normal.
