Magic: The Gathering

I had some cards when I was a kid, but have recently gotten into it.
What i'm finding it difficult to do is stop.

Addicted is a stretch... but been playing it since 1999... mostly play it online now, since there are no local stores anymore.

oh I used to play it when I was younger, I still have my cards but no one wants to play card games anymore! (or any kind of games, people are so lame)

It's coming back in a big way where I live.
In fact, my partner and I are sitting down to a match this evening.
Local games stores also have 'Friday Night Magic', for any level of ability.

There are some comic shops that do Magic Night here too but I'm way to scared to go by myself... :(

I adore MTG! I generally use a black/blue exploit deck or a sliver deck, though I have many others. I play online with friends using FB mobile messenger, we ask for pics if needed and keep track of life and field but otherwise it's a lot of fun, still. Would love to find some card/pen & paper gamers in MN S:

There are nine Wizards Play Network stores within ten miles of you. One of the things that WPN/DCI have been emphasizing lately is safety for its players. Try it; you might enjoy it.

I googled that and found a bunch of places by me too! Now to get over being to scared to go! (and a ride too! lol)

I use an Esper deck, which I've been developing for the past month.
Thinking of making a mono-red, just for fun.

How do you play via messenger?
That'd be awesome.

We use Facebook mobile messenger, we just set the field and inform our opponents via the voice recording option, take pictures or vids as needed to explain the field, and keep score on scratch paper.

Magic Workstation is another one of those tools that might be handy to use (at least, if it's still around; haven't used it in years... did use it years ago mostly for decktesting for my Friday Night Magic brews).

I like silly combo decks and cards that make people cringe, lol. Magic troll for sure. My favorite card is Warp World (that card should return to Standard; especially with landfall and those tokens in the new Zendikar set next month) for sure, followed closely by Grip of Chaos and Confusion in the Ranks. Yeah... I'm a blast to have around when playing a game of Commander, lol (especially when I Radiate a Vindicate *twirls mustache*). My favorite color is Red and after that I'm slowly oozing over to either blue or black, preferably with red combined. Clearly an Izzet player with a bit of Grixis going on. I'm terrible playing control decks; so I avoid playing them at all cost (well; I do like Death & Taxes in Legacy); but either aggro (Legacy Goblins, Affinity; or straight burn) or some detrimental storm combo (Playing ANT is quite fun IMO) or Combo elves.

Like I said ever since my local store closed I'm playing Magic Online more (so; if by chance anyone is playing that as well; hit me up; always up for some Legacy, Modern, Standard, Pauper or Commander)

Speaking of MtG; while it's not really the full MtG experience in terms of having an extensive cardlibrary; the latest MtG (Magic Duals) is for free on Steam and is ok...ish I suppose.

We don't play Magic but finally bought Dominion a week ago. We love tabletop games...board, card and RPG. Running out of room to store them... But always gotta get more!

Haven't played any of the customisable card games but love deck builders, with Star Realms and Ascension being my favourites. I play both on iOS, too. Just getting into Dominion now... Health has been very poor for a while and too tired to sit at a table and play...can't wait to be able to get back into the games. Who needs TV?

Anyway, just wanted you to know there ARE people out there who play games. :) my husband plays with friends every Monday, too.

Questella, I'm sure that if we used the same methods of messenger Magic, we could start a little community of players on here.
That way, you wouldn't have to conquer the fear (or get the ride) to the comic book store.

King Oni mentioned the games, but I always find that they don't have the full library that the TCG does, so that's why I like using messenger. If you guys do get into that, add me on FB, I'd play you!
