I store morel mushrooms in water, in the refrigerator. When the morels are gone, the soak water has turned dark brown with spores.

I put that in a watering can and sprinkled that on the ground where I've found morels in the past, in hopes of a future harvest next year.

Watching the extended weather forecast, it looks like it's time to get all the "indoor" plants outside for the summer. My big potted, succulent plants and bonsai trees have been put outside. I dismantled all the baker's racks I have my orchids on, removing all the grow lights, the timers, the fans, and put them back down in the basement storage. It's been a perfect day for it, cloudy skies, an occasional "spit" of rain, almost no wind...the orchids will be happy. Tomorrow, another cloudy day, perhaps a little rain, as well. I will get all the philodendrons and other aroid plants outside, then get them under some horticultural shade cloth so the summer sun won't fry the leaves.

Clean things up inside, rearrange some furniture, and prepare for company at the house this weekend.

My wife can have "her house" back.;)

I'm going to repot, fertilize and put my orchids on the front porch today. They are the last of the plants that I move inside during winter. The citrus trees and other plants are enjoying being outside.

We dug up a bunch of garlic yesterday which I've hung by the stems to cure in the garage, out of the sun. When they are cured (usually takes a couple of weeks), I'll remove the stems and outer skins that have dirt on them and put them in nylon mesh bags in the kitchen for cooking.

I unwound then rewound the hop vines (they grow 12 feet straight up before they'll flower. To keep them manageable, I weave them back and forth across 2 wires, like a ladder).
