EXCELLENT ! ! ! ! You have such a focused eye, Rodafina! I remember a quote from long ago. "The small things are infinitely the most important." I think that not many "small things" get by you unnoticed!

velociraptor, your beautiful photograph takes me back to the Hans Christian Andersen fairytale, "The Ugly Duckling." Remember? I think that Andersen could have been talking, metaphorically, in his fairytale about NTs making fun of Aspies, calling us "ugly." But, of course, such name-calling is out of ignorance and out of a lack of understanding the diversity of human life. Through various but through similar methods, our baby "ugliness" gives way to an understanding of who we really and truly are. We are not ducks and we are not ugly. We grow, metaphorically, into beautiful, perfect for our species, adult swans. . . .
I am so jealous you got to see trumpeter swans. I assume this is near where you live?

Your photographs remind me, WhitewaterWoman, of how we can "repair" ourselves after we've been through challenges that feel as if they're going to destroy us. Your excellent repair-job is a metaphor for how life's repairs can be fixed when we strive to make ourselves better than ever. Thanks for sharing this truth through your wonderful photography!View attachment 143978
This is the photo I took today. You can see the repair near the “top’ of the blue. It still needs work, but I am pleased with how well I did the color match. Below is a photo of the bow before the repair.
