I was wondering about that, too. It is not customary here.
Agree with you, Rodafina. This is what we use: w/
It means "with".
w/o means "without".

Very thoughtful. . . .
That's the wrong soil mix for a plant susceptible to rot. The polystyrene balls hold water. What you need is a Rose mix, it has sand instead of polystyrene for good drainage.Trying to save my Florist Kalanchoe from overwatering it...
Yeah i also found info that it needs to have some succulent type of soil. Ah, will buy that soonThat's the wrong soil mix for a plant susceptible to rot. The polystyrene balls hold water. What you need is a Rose mix, it has sand instead of polystyrene for good drainage.
Just dirt from your back yard would probably do the trick as long as it's more sandy than clingy like clay.Yeah i also found info that it needs to have some succulent type of soil. Ah, will buy that soon
I'm afraid it'll have some parasites or bacteria which plant won't like, but thanks for the infoJust dirt from your back yard would probably do the trick as long as it's more sandy than clingy like clay.
My mum used to do this - put the right amount of dirt in a plastic bag and microwave it on high for a couple of minutes.I'm afraid it'll have some parasites or bacteria which plant won't like, but thanks for the info
Your post reminds me of planting a rose bush, actually more like a cutting, many years ago. I watered it and it started turning brown so I watered it again. Then again. Finally, I saw that I'd drowned it. I was living in a western desert part of Texas and thought it was thirsty. Only afterwards did I discover that roses don't need a lot of watering.Trying to save my Florist Kalanchoe from overwatering it... Sadly I noticed it too late and while the roots were still okay, the stem is where it started rotting. Hopefully it'll survive. I know I can just buy another one, but I don't want to let it die without a fight, specifically because it was my fault. Sigh.

The whole family was autistic, not that we knew anything about that back then. I seem to have inherited Mum's knack for simple solutions. I got her green thumb too. What a brilliant mum you have!
