Here the only time you'll see different coloured lines is to delineate different zones for parking. Yellow lines mean no parking, and red lines indicate your vehicle will immediately get towed and impounded.

In the U.S., when the curbs are painted in colors they mean certain things. It says these colors are in Los Angeles, CA. But they existed when I lived in Texas, in Oklahoma, and in Kentucky. I thought that these colors were U.S.-wide but evidently not if only yellow exists in New York.

The usual positions of my eyes while walking are either 1) staring into space, 2) looking at my phone or 3) tracking the progress of the upcoming traffic light. Since this thread was started (one month ago from tomorrow), it has markedly changed, as I do much more exploring of what's around me. Thank you all.
