I was married to a narcissistic woman for eighteen years. When I listen to Lennon’s solo work, I hear narcissistic abuse in many of his songs. It makes me sad to think he went through that abuse as well.

Lennon admitted publically that he was 'A hitter'. So yes one would have to do more resaerch before making an informed comparison.

He wrote all these lovely songs about "Darling Sean" his son with Yoko Ono, but his oldest son, Julian Lennon, he literally forgot all about. Never any visits, money, cards, nothing. He was an awful man who fancied himself "The Walrus", as if he was worthy of being throned over everyone. And he was a nasty addict too. Many of the songs that sound like they're about a relationship are actually about heroin and cocaine addiction taking over his life.

I finally came out of the narcissistic cocoon of many years. l have had a rebirth and an awareness that l didn't have. I find l am more in reality and less in the fog. Formulating life goals are something l am able to retain. l have a little executive dysfunction but l try to keep it in check.
