I'm new to Aspies Central

oregano

deliver us to evil
V.I.P Member
Hi, I finally decided to join Aspies Central after hearing good things about it on Wrong Planet. I decided not to use my WP login to create a new beginning. "Oregano" is my pet name for the state of Oregon, where I hope to be living in a couple years. Oregano is an herb sometimes passed off as marijuana, and lots of weed is grown in Oregon, so I thought the alliteration was cool. I am a 40 year old male currently living in Sacramento, California, capital of the land of the weird.

Welcome to Aspies Central. I'm also from WP.

That is really funny.
I use oregano all the time, had no idea it was sometimes used in the manner you just described.

This is an old trick.
Usually in neighborhoods where the seller is not known
and the buyer is naive.
Catnip, sometimes, too.

"Mexican oregano" is a real herb. Even though the name
sounds laden with innuendo it is just a variety of oregano
that isn't 'Mediterranean.' It's good in chili, tacos, stuff
like that.

Yes absolutely, also if you burn black tea in a dish or pipe it smells smells very similar to (mary jane) or weed. A relative told me that they smoked corn silk as teenagers and it had similar effects in the forties.

My mother said that kids she knew smoked grapevine,
out behind the barn, generally. She didn't go for it.

My cousin sometimes smokes mullein---because he has
asthma. He says it 'clears his lungs.' That means after
he smokes it, he spits.

I knew a girl [This is NOT a euphemistic autobiographical
lead in. I did not do this.:p It was not me.] who bought
some material at a dance once. The guy selling the
stuff told her it was opium. That was a lot of money to pay
for a stick of incense. She really did light it and inhale it, too.

Overgeneralization of the use of mullein isn't good, though.
[My cousin was a tobacco & marijuana user, along with being asthmatic.]

"Mullein is also used in smoking mixtures for smokers who are trying to bring up congestion. Be aware that this technique is not to be used by someone who is not a smoker. The resulting coughing fit will not benefit any respiratory illness."
