Not at all. I value the truth and like to teach others. While many are unwilling to learn, there are some who want to increase their knowledge.
He'd see a mirror image of how others see him.Look in a mirror and see yourself as others see you.
He'd see a mirror image of how others see him.
Though the difference would be less than the economic confusion that has characterized this thread
Matthias is a bit too theoretical. Your views on economics are biased by counter-factual ideology.
You'd probably both gain from continuing the discussion.
I'm the only true genius here, and don't you forget it.Oh, but you, the great genius, knows everything. LOL.![]()
Here in Australia, it is tougher to become financially independent these days. There seems to be a lot of capitalist myths being peddled in this thread, such as "hard works pays off" - that isn't the case in the current capitalist system, it may have been in previous decades.
The majority of wealth in western economies is concentrated in relatively few hands, with the majority of people working for comparitive breadcrumbs to the actual wealth that exists in the hands of those said few.
Exactly why he wrote "it may have been in previous decades."Here in Australia, it is tougher to become financially independent these days.
Having said that, I worked my but off, mentally speaking, and retired at 50 due to autistic burnout.
My family started out with nothing when they migrated to Australia.
They gave me the work ethic that I needed to become financially secure.
So many younger ppl nowadays seem to have an attitude of entitlement, and that doesn't serve them well.
Bottom line:
This "capitalist system" worked for me.
Not having a go at you, matey.![]()
I did see that.Exactly why he wrote "it may have been in previous decades."
Oh, but you, the great genius, knows everything. LOL.![]()
I did see that.
I did agree that it is tougher now.
But did you see my point about how many younger ppl have an attitude of entitlement these days?
Hard work is still relevant.
I blame socialist propaganda, the welfare state, and a lack of morals for their greed, sloth, and lack of education. They know it's much easier to use the welfare system to steal other people's hard earned money than to work hard and earn it themselves. So many younger ppl nowadays seem to have an attitude of entitlement, and that doesn't serve them well.
Marry was being sarcastic?Prove me wrong then. Sarcasm never adds anything to an exchange of information.
I'm not rich.I think people who seem 'entitled' of the younger generation, in the eyes of the older generation, probably are just realizing what a rigged system we have.
A system whereby people in the orbit of wealth or who were born in a connected family, or a family with educated people even who properly parent their children to become able to deal with how society is, are the ones that get ahead.
Social mobility is at an all time low. For the most part, you cannot educate your way out of being the type of person who people don't want to give opportunities to or value to one's time or skills. You have to be, more often than not, outstanding on your own merit, if you are part of a lower social class to get anywhere in life with regards to money.
A funny article I saw that sort of sums up how it is in the UK at least at the moment, and is likely relevant to other, similar, western economies too:
Average UK worker would need to save 52 years of earnings to be wealthy
"The average Brit would need to work for over half a century with no outgoings to move into the wealthiest bracket, according to analysts".
I blame socialist propaganda, the welfare state, and a lack of morals for their greed, sloth, and lack of education. They know it's much easier to use the welfare system to steal other people's hard earned money than to work hard and earn it themselves.
Socialism is built on covetousness and greed - socialists covet what others have earned and desire to steal the fruits of their labor because they're greedy and too lazy to work hard to earn what they want.
