How can I have a more positive year for 2026?

I go to a sports massage therapist regularly and she's awesome. Very few things feel as good as getting the knots worked out of your back and shoulders, lol.

I go to a chiropractor regularly too and that also feels great. It's good to take care of yourself.

Glad you're doing more to take care of yourself, @Markness :) Hope this year continues to get better for you.

Thank you for your kind words, @Lou Laurinen. It really does help to take care of yourself and people like my mother really need to get that. I plan on going to the aforementioned parlor again when I get paid and find the time.

I know I have to get out of the house and attempt to engage with people. I have been doing that; I just don’t make new friends easily. It discourages me and that’s largely why I fear I’ll never have a partner.

The year didn’t exactly start off the best with my grandmother passing away. But a part of me feels like my grandmother would want me to keep going.
Being there for distressed people is really cool, and knowing your own pain makes it easier to help others. You're OK @Markness and I hope someone comes along to convince you of that very soon.
Please, go somewhere beautiful and relax, today :)

I notice that women will notice when I wear clothes that look “alternative” and they will compliment me sometimes.
What kind of "alternative" do you mean? And where do you get your clobber?
It's hard to get alternative clothing that isn't women's clothing.

I go as far as wearing dresses myself, although I do like girls. I figure that if I meet the right person it won't matter how I'm dressed - so I give myself a chance by dressing in such a way that I meet lots of people. It might help that I am very good at dressing myself and have even enjoyed being a full-on fashionista not long ago.

Alternative as in pertaining to subcultures like punk, goth, metal, rivethead, and others.

Where I’ve ordered clothes from:
Rivithead : Gothic Clothing, Platform boots and accessories
HARD'N'HEAVY - Gothic, Rock & Alternative Fashion Store

wow that's some good stuff
I especially like the boots :)
Do you get into the dance culture too?
I’ve been to some dance clubs. The only one that would play the music I like and have likeminded people would be Elysium in Austin. Unfortunately, I can’t always go to Austin due to finances and work schedule.

I used to get into trance raves 30 years ago.
We didn't need any drugs - we'd get into the trance, and dance all night.
My friend had green lipstick, and took anything up to 4 hours to get dressed.
